MY WORD! is the first word game that plays like a party game! Quickly search for words while single and double letter cards are dealt on to the table. The first player to call out a word using at least three cards wins those cards. Fast and fun, MY WORD! appeals to fans of word games and party games alike!

”Clothed in the compact, embossed tin that’s now haute couture for Out of the Box’s card games, MY WORD! is the first word game to join the range. The game is for 2 to 6 players aged 7 and up, and comprises 73 letter cards, and the rules in both English and Spanish. The aim of the game is to build words from the letter cards, as they’re played onto the table by the dealer. To begin, the players’ names are written down for scorekeeping, and one player elects to be the first dealer. The players take turns being the dealer, and can play the game whilst dealing. The dealer takes all the cards, and begins placing the letter cards face up in the middle of the table. Whilst this is going on, all the players are searching for words that they can make from the cards. 54 of the cards have single letters on them, and there are 15 double letter cards in addition to 3 wild cards that can stand in for any other letter. To make a valid word, you have to use at least three cards, and no names or abbreviations are allowed. When a player finds a word, they call it out and arrange the cards to spell out the word, and then it’s up to the dealer to check the word’s validity. If it’s allowed, the player takes the cards they used, and gains one point for each card they possess. Once the dealer has played all the cards, the round ends and the dealer writes down everyone’s scores for that round, after which all cards are collected, and are passed to the next dealer along with the score sheet. This continues until all the players have had a go at being the dealer, then all the scores are totalled up to determine the winner”.
”Another good game for an adult to play with a child, indeed the game includes an alternative, pared down set of rules for smaller youngsters with smaller vocabularies. My Word! rubs shoulders with a number of other, pretty formidable word games that have come into being quite recently. To its credit, it holds its own against them quite well and succeeds in doing its own thing. Word games are plentiful, as are card games, but there are few that marry the two styles, which goes still further in helping it to stand out from both crowds. An enjoyable game. In all this is a more than worthy addition to Out of the Box’s collection, and yours too if you’re up for a wordy card game, or indeed a cardy word game”!
